Sympathy Card

I think this was the first digital stamp, or any stamp for that matter than took me about 2 seconds to color.   lol    The digital image is from Designed2Delight as part of their weekly freebie challenage, and Faith said that this is a shamrock flower.  I looked them up and they are mainly white with a green center.   So I took my C1 Copic marker and outlined the image just as my friend Christine showed me how, then colored in the centers and stems.  Done.   Cutting out the paper and assembling the card took the longest.  I decided to put the sentiment on the inside only.

Holiday Candles

These are for an upcoming craft sale.   They are so fun and easy to make.   (Thanks Christine for showing me how.)   I would like to try colored candles too, but can't find any that are inexpensive.   I do have a nice stash of Partylite candles (used to sell them), but I think they would be too fancy to use.   lol

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Today is my mom's birthday.  She is ____ today.   lol.  I'm not going to say how old she is, but I will say the year that she turned 50, I was 25 and all day long I reminded her that I was half her age.  I am surprised that I didn't get disowned that day.   :)

I thought I would share a few pictures of her.

This is her and her younger brother, Bob.   I don't know when this was taken.

Mom and Bob about to leave for school.

This is mom and dad's 30th Anniversary (several years ago).   Dad got that figurine for her.    They both love eagles.   We were visiting mom's parents for Christmas.  Their anniversary is December 27th.

A current picture.  Well, a year ago.   This is grandson Noah.  I don't have a picture of her with all 3 grandchildren, so this one will have to do.

Scaredy Cat Birthday Card

The cat in this image reminds me of my Siamese cat I had years ago.  He was weird.    lol  Seriously, he was.   He LOVED catnip, it made him crazy.  He was scared of the hamster I had, he loved snow, and he loved to play in paper bags.   The look on the cat's face in the stamp image reminds me of the look he would have when he would see the hamster.

The digital image is from Designed2Delight for their weekly challanage, their blog is here.   You can buy this cute kitty and play along.  If you do, you'll get a new image for free on Friday.

The papers were scraps I had from other cards so don't remember what "brands" they are, but I got them at Michael's.   Colored the image with Copics.    The sentiment is by Close to My Heart.

This card is going to be for my mom's birthday tomorrow (the 22nd), so SHHHH, don't tell her.   :o)

Yet un-named card or Bear and flowers card

I couldn't think of a sentiment for this card so it might just be an all-occasion card.   The layout is from Christine's weekly sketch on her blog.   Check out her friend, Carol's card.

The image is from Designed2Delight and they can be found here

The cardstock is Bazzill and the patterned paper is Recollections from Michael's.    The image was colored in with Copics.   Sorry, the picture is blurry, I couldn't get a clear picture.

Red and White Anniversary Card

I saw this card idea in the PaperCrafts magazine and thought I would give it a try.  They had a different embossing plate, but I like the way it turned out.

The Bow Easy is just that, Easy.   Makes great bows and is super fast.

Never Forget

I'm sure all of us can remember exactly where we were on September 11, 2001.   I was at work that day and it was stressful for several hours as we tried to reach the 30 or so employees that were traveling.  Some of which were on the east coast.   Thankfully they were all safe.   That weekend my mom and grandmother came to visit and brought with them my then 4 month old niece, Moriah.   My SIL couldn't make it so she sent her daughter instead.  :o)   I remember how my lookout on things changed so much that weekend as I took care of this beautiful baby who didn't know what had happened or how much her future would be affected by the events.   She just enjoyed her time with her aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother.   I'll never forget what happened that day, but that weekend will stay with me more.

Don't wait to tell your family and friends you love them.   Give your kids an extra hug today!!!!

Black, White, and Red card

This card was made using Christine's sketch.  It was a struggle for me again.  The sketch is great, but it was hard to find the right combination of papers.  Once I decided to do black and white, nothing else looked right.   It took me several hours to get this card made.  (Although having the TV on didn't help.)

The black and white patterned paper is from Hobby Lobby.   The red cardstock is from Close to my Heart, and the white cardstock is Georgia Pacific from Wal-Mart.  The stamp is from Close to my Heart (I think retired).   The "fancy" shapes were cut on the Cricut using the Create-A-Critter cartridge and Design Studio (thanks again Melissa).   Can't remember where the flower brads came from.

Fall Leaf Wreath

Designed2Delight has a new digital image challenge each month.  Create a project with the new image each week, link it to their site, and then when the challenge for the week is over each participant gets a new digital image free.  Check them out here.

I colored the image in with Copics.  The brown base cardstock is by TAC.  The patterned paper is from Hobby Lobby, I think.   The rest of the paper is CTMH.   I got to play with my new toy last night, the ScoreBuddy.    Scoring the fold in the cardbase was perfect, and then it helped me score the lines on the 2 corners of the card.   (Thanks Christine for showing me that great tool.)

Thinking of You card

After such a busy weekend, I was still able to get a couple cards made.  Here is one of them.  It is made with a Sketch from Christine over at her blog.   It took a while to get all the colors on this one right.  At first it was too busy.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps.  The patterened paper is from Die Cuts With A View, the card base is Bazzill, and the rest of the cardstock is from Close to My Heart.    The image was colored with Copics.

Sweet Dill Pickles anyone?

So far this holiday weekend, I haven't made any craft projects, but I have been busy.  Saturday I helped my mom and dad go through boxes of their stuff that has been in storage for over 6 years.  Some things were still in boxes from when we moved across the state of MN over 25 years ago.   What memories, too bad most of the stuff was too damaged to save.  :(

Today my mom, and my cousin Karri helped me can Sweet Dill Pickles.   It is my Grandma's recipe and this is the 3rd time I've made them.   (This is the only kind of pickles I like.)    This year we made 34 pint jars.   Not quite enough to make a full 3 dozen, but enough for us.   My other cousin, Mindy couldn't make it, but she can still get her 10 jars.  :o)     We have to wait 2 weeks before we can eat them.   Boy, that is going to be a long wait.

My mom and cousin Karri busy cutting pickles.

Me taking the last 4 jars from the oven.  (Ugh, I hate my picture being taken.)

Creepy Halloween Card

Got the idea for this card from my friend Christine.   She loaned me her Cuttlebug folder to make the web.   A very nice lady on Splitcoast Stampers cut the spiders out for me with her Cricut and the Doodlecharm cartridge.

The paper is Coordinations (I think) and the bright green cardstock is a CTMH color that is retiring.  The spider is pop dottted and I added some silver glitter to it with a gel pen.
